There’s something instantly refreshing about Appleby’s new song ‘Lady Sunshine’, with its muted strings and softly sung lyrics. It appears more like an intimate demo than a finished piece of songwriting, but by stripping away all sense of studio space and layers of mechanical production, what we’re left with is a sense of Appleby’s authenticity. Joining forces once again with right-hand man and producer Elias Abid, this Chicago talent sweetly sings of his Lady Sunshine in that airy, soulful tone.
